In the 3rd minute, Pedro Mendes made a precise shot to the right of Abel Leiria. Vaqueiros's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Nuno Paiva charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Serpa FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 11thth minute of the game Fernando Moutinho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Serpa FC's Miguel Cardoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Joaquim Matias came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Vaqueiros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquim Matias couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Inácio Figueiredo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Serpa FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Inácio Figueiredo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abel Leiria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emílio Baptista hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the game, Inácio Figueiredo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Abel Leiria. Inácio Figueiredo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. 25 minutes into the match, Fernando Moutinho notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Serpa FC's Miguel Cardoso. Miguel Cardoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 28 minutes into the match, Serpa FC's Ricardo Marques sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Abel Leiria narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Ricardo Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Serpa FC's zone, Fernando Moutinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Cardoso came out of the goal and Fernando Moutinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Mendes charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 37th match minute, Serpa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Mendes to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute of the match Vaqueiros got a corner. Serpa FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alexandre Mota ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Vaqueiros's corner Alexandre Mota fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Miguel Cardoso quite easily take care of the ball. When Vaqueiros's Fernando Moutinho in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Serpa FC's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Vaqueiros booed when Serpa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Mendes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joaquim Matias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Miguel Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joaquim Matias made a kick off. A hard shot 57 in the game by Fernando Moutinho from a close distance when the talented Miguel Cardoso managed to make a qualified save. Serpa FC's players were relieved. The crowd rose to their feet as Fernando Moutinho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Miguel Cardoso. That made the score 2-2 in the 59 minute of play. In the 64th minute Ricardo Marques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Leiria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Cardoso had great luck who in the 66thth minute grab hold of the ball when Joaquim Matias from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. After 67 minutes Serpa FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alexandre Mota who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Vaqueiros's Alexandre Mota to fire away a dangerous shot which Miguel Cardoso despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ricardo Marques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miguel Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Moutinho in the 81st minute of play. Abel Leiria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Marques in the 88th minute of the match. Ricardo Marques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Abel Leiria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abel Leiria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Marques in the 92nd minute of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vaqueiros would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
