A collision led to SC Lufrei getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Daniel Mendes hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in SC Lufrei's zone, Manuel Coimbra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xavier Soares came out of the goal and Manuel Coimbra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abel Pedroso hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute, Nuno Ribeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, SC Lufrei's Heitor Borba threw himself towards the right post 16 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alfredo Gaspar, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Heitor Borba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Heitor Borba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Coimbra in the 25th minute of play forced SC Lufrei's goalkeeper Xavier Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SC Luizeira's zone, Alfredo Gaspar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Heitor Borba came out of the goal and Alfredo Gaspar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Gaspar in the 34th minute of play forced SC Luizeira's goalkeeper Heitor Borba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Heitor Borba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Amílcar Resende came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the SC Lufrei fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amílcar Resende couldn't finish the play. Alfredo Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, SC Luizeira's Heitor Borba got control of the ball when Amílcar Resende tried to sneak it across the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alfredo Gaspar to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amílcar Resende in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Heitor Borba saved SC Luizeira from getting behind. If Amílcar Resende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Heitor Borba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amílcar Resende went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Alfredo Gaspar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Heitor Borba having to make a save. Manuel Coimbra struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Xavier Soares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Luizeira. Nuno Ribeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Xavier Soares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. Alexandre Leiria hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After having played for 73 minutes, Nuno Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Luizeira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Ribeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nuno Ribeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Xavier Soares made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Amílcar Resende managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Lufrei's supporters rose to their feet, but Amílcar Resende was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Heitor Borba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Heitor Borba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amílcar Resende went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 94 minutes into the match, SC Luizeira's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Gaspar came free, but Heitor Borba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
