António Marques blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Xavier Soares having to make a save. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Lufrei's goalkeeper Xavier Soares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If António Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the match, SC Lufrei's goalkeeper Xavier Soares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by António Marques. Lúcio Matos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Gaspar in the 45th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amílcar Pinto during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when António Cunha made the kick off in the second half. If Alfredo Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Júlio Figueiredo's late challenge caught a SC Lufrei's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Júlio Figueiredo helped the player get up and apologised. After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Edral FC! In the 58th minute there was a penalty for SC Lufrei. Cláudio Leão stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lúcio Matos. 0-1. Edral FC's Lúcio Matos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Edral FC from getting a goal against them. Lúcio Matos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amílcar Resende in the 68th minute. In the 72nd match minute, Edral FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Jesus to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Amílcar Resende managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Lufrei's supporters rose to their feet, but Amílcar Resende was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lúcio Matos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfredo Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Alfredo Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 100th minute. Lúcio Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded SC Lufrei left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Edral FC.
