The crowd rose to their feet as SC Encourados's Afonso Pinheiro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of António Pereira. That made the score 2-2 after 45 minutes of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

For all the effort they put into the match, the Medronheira players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
