The referee ignored Cavadas FC's protests and gave Bruno Leiria a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cavadas FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Bruno Leiria hit a great ball. Xavier Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Fontes in the 13th minute of play. Cavadas FC's Xavier Mendes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Cavadas FC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Cavadas FC booed when Carapinheira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Leite didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xavier Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Martins in the 27th minute of the match. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cavadas FC's goalkeeper Xavier Mendes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. David Martins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Xavier Mendes made a huge save. David Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xavier Mendes having to interfere. Paulo Domingues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Campos having to interfere. The Carapinheira players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cavadas FC were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Miguel Maia to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Carapinheira's goalkeeper José Campos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulo Domingues. In the 56th minute David Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xavier Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Xavier Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Carapinheira's zone, Bruno Leiria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Campos came out of the goal and Bruno Leiria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 63 minutes, Joel Neves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carapinheira and the Cavadas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 64th minute, Joel Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Carapinheira getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Vicente Gomes hit a great ball. José Campos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Maia in the 68th minute of play. Paulo Dominguess short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got José Campos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Vicente Gomes kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. David Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Xavier Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Carapinheira supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cavadas FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Cavadas FC.
