Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Alexandre Delgado made the kick off which started today's match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 3 minutes into the game, when Tomás Portela put in a rough tackle. After a defensive mix-up in benfica's zone, Rui Pacheco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Viriato Prates came out of the goal and Rui Pacheco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 7th minute, Eduardo Abreu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Viriato Prates was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Lázaro Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. benfica's Adérito Carvalho suffered a sore thigh after 12 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 12 minutes into the game, Eduardo Abreu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Penados's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave benfica the free kick. The supporters of benfica booed when SC Penados was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alberto Esteves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cassiano Guerra's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. 29 minutes into the match, benfica's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandre Delgado came free, but Viriato Prates reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 31 minutes, Lázaro Freitas made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. SC Penados's Alberto Esteves tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 37 minutes into the game, benfica's Alexandre Severo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alberto Esteves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Lázaro Freitas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Viriato Prates made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lucas Coimbra in the 45th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cassiano Guerra to make the kick off. If Cassiano Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lázaro Freitas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SC Penados's Rui Pacheco got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alberto Esteves made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Cassiano Guerra sent off a good shot on target. Alberto Esteves was out of position in the 62 minute of play, and Lázaro Freitas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lázaro Freitas really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. Enzo Távora's late challenge caught a SC Penados's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enzo Távora helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of SC Penados booed when benfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enzo Távora didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucas Coimbra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Viriato Prates made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre Delgado in the 68th minute of play. Lázaro Freitas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Alberto Esteves made a huge save. Alexandre Severo might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alberto Esteves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexandre Severo ran back to his position shaking his head. Alberto Esteves made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Alexandre Severo sent off a good shot on target. If Lázaro Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, SC Penados's goal looked a bit too open when Cassiano Guerra came free, but Alberto Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, Cassiano Guerra cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Alberto Esteves was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lázaro Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over benfica could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SC Penados throughout the match.
