Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Carapinheira's defense didn't have a chance, in the 5th minute, when Alexandre Severo scored to the left of an out of position José Campos, making the score, 1-0. In the 10th play minute Adérito Carvalho came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised José Campos. 2-0. Gualter Vieira hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, David Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carapinheira's supporters rose to their feet, but David Martins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viriato Prates breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Fontes in the 16th minute of play forced benfica's goalkeeper Viriato Prates to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of benfica booed when Carapinheira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Carapinheira's goalkeeper José Campos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cassiano Guerra. If Cassiano Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lázaro Freitas in the 26th minute of play forced Carapinheira's goalkeeper José Campos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, José Campos successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Cassiano Guerra succeeded in the game's 29th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-0. After 36 played minutes Carapinheira got a freekick which was hit by Duarte Maia. After a defensive mix-up in Carapinheira's zone, Fábio Domingos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Campos came out of the goal and Fábio Domingos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Enzo Távora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The wind increased when Alexandre Severo made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, benfica's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Fontes came free, but Viriato Prates reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, benfica's Viriato Prates got control of the ball when David Martins tried to sneak it across the goal line. José Campos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adérito Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 62 minutes into the match, Alexandre Severo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Campos. Carapinheira's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alexandre Severo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Lázaro Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. José Campos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Carapinheira's zone, Adérito Carvalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Campos came out of the goal and Adérito Carvalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lázaro Freitas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Campos having to make a save. Lázaro Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. José Campos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adérito Carvalho in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Campos saved Carapinheira from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cassiano Guerra in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Campos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 84 minutes into the game, benfica's Cassiano Guerra nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. José Campos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. In the 87th minute Alexandre Severo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Campos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexandre Severo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 91st minute, Vicente Gomes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cassiano Guerra struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. José Campos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for benfica. benfica walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
