Nuno Pais's late challenge caught a Escoural's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nuno Pais helped the player get up and apologised. 18 minutes into the match, Osvaldo Calheiros dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of João Garcia, 1-0. When Telmo Marques came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Jacinto FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Telmo Marques couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Jacinto FC booed when Escoural was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Paredes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Telmo Marques fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jacinto FC's protests and gave Telmo Marques a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Jacinto FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Telmo Marques hit a great ball. Paulo Abreu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tomé Cardoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Escoural's goal looked a bit too open when Telmo Marques came free, but João Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osvaldo Calheiros got free with João Garcia in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 45thth minute of the game Telmo Marques who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Escoural's João Garcia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Paulo Abreu made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Jacinto FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cristóvão Cardoso fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 55th minute, Rui Paredes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 56th minute, Osvaldo Calheiros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Escoural getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Rogério Silva hit a great ball. Raúl Meireles missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 64 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the João Garcia right hand side. João Garcia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Telmo Marques in the 67th minute of the match. João Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldo Calheiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rogério Silva got his second yellow card in the match during the 70th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 71 played minutes, Jacinto FC's Raúl Meireles shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper João Garcia came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jacinto FC reached it. The supporters of Jacinto FC booed when Escoural was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Mariano Anjos in the 78th minute really tested Tomé Cardoso's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 80th minute, Raúl Meireles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. João Garcia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Telmo Marques's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Jacinto FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
