Emílio Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Barbosa having to interfere. Augusto Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Assis in the 45th minute of play. If Emílio Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Leiros's Augusto Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Assis in the 48th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristiano Assis was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Cruz in the 52nd minute of play forced SC Leiros's goalkeeper Augusto Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute Cristiano Esteves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Aleixo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Carnapete FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Cristiano Assis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carnapete FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristiano Assis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Augusto Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Carnapete FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
