In the 3rd play minute Paulo Esteves came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Valério Azenha. 1-0. Sérgio Macedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélio Leiria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Oitavos FC's Valério Azenha got control of the ball when Joel Fernandes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eurico Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Macedo having to interfere. Sérgio Macedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eurico Veiga in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Oitavos FC's Hélio Leiria nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sérgio Macedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The audience was convinced that Eurico Veiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sérgio Macedo was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Armindo Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Francisco Bessa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Valério Azenha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sérgio Macedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eurico Veiga in the 41st minute of play. The supporters of Oitavos FC booed when Carvide was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Fernandes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sérgio Macedo came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Oitavos FC's Hélio Leiria. But to his dismay, Hélio Leiria quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After the first half Oitavos FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hélio Leiria made a kick off. Hélio Leiria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sérgio Macedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélio Leiria in the 53rd minute of the match. Oitavos FC's Valério Azenha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Esteves in the 59th minute of play. The supporters of Carvide booed when Oitavos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olavo Moita didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the game, Abílio Valverde was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oitavos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carvide the free kick. Sérgio Macedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélio Leiria in the 68th minute of the match. A very good chance. 71 minutes into the match, Carvide's goal looked a bit too open when Hélio Leiria came free, but Sérgio Macedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75thth minute of the game Hélio Leiria who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carvide's Sérgio Macedo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 76 minutes, Paulo Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carvide's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Esteves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Carvide's zone, Hélio Leiria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sérgio Macedo came out of the goal and Hélio Leiria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eurico Veiga succeeded in the game's 93rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-4. The Carvide supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Oitavos FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Oitavos FC.
