Teamonde's Armando Lisboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Correia in the 23rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sapataria FC's zone, António Morais stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Cardoso came out of the goal and António Morais tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 27th minute, Teamonde's Inácio Castro seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Inácio Castro the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Teamonde protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Inácio Castro had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 27th minute, one of Teamonde:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Teamonde. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Correia in the 34th minute of play forced Teamonde's goalkeeper Armando Lisboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Teamonde's António Morais in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adolfo Correia to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Sapataria FC booed when Teamonde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastião Resende didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Teamonde's goalkeeper Armando Lisboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 64 minutes, Sebastião Resende mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Teamonde and the Sapataria FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sebastião Resende kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. In the 68th match minute, Sapataria FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Henriques to maneuver through the defense. Teamonde's Manuel Cruz shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 71st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Paulo Cardoso but with some difficulty. After having played for 72 minutes, Domingos Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Teamonde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domingos Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 74th minute, António Morais got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 78th minute Adolfo Correia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Lisboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. António Morais received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Paulo Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacinto Monteiro's late challenge caught a Teamonde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacinto Monteiro helped the player get up and apologised. Gaspar Soares hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sapataria FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Teamonde had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
