Jaime Campos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Abílio Varanda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 18 minutes, Inácio Abrantes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aveleiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inácio Abrantes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Inácio Abrantes might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Óscar Branco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Inácio Abrantes ran back to his position shaking his head. Aveleiras's Nuno Eanes got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Nuno Eanes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Óscar Branco was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Inácio Abrantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th match minute, SC Ervins was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Jesus to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Inácio Abrantes in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Óscar Branco saved SC Ervins from getting behind. Óscar Branco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Inácio Abrantes's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Óscar Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inácio Abrantes in the 51st minute of the match. When Fábio Matias fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Ervins's protests and gave Fábio Matias a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 53rd minute of the game. One of SC Ervins:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Aveleiras:s goal. When the match had been going on for 54 minutes, Aveleiras's Luís Trigueiro got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Óscar Branco. Inácio Abrantes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Óscar Branco having to interfere. Nuno Eanes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Óscar Branco having to interfere. Renato Bacelar kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Óscar Branco made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Nuno Eanes sent off a good shot on target. Aveleiras were awarded a corner in the 95th minute after SC Ervins's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luís Trigueiro took the corner. The corner ended in Luís Trigueiro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SC Ervins's Óscar Branco did a great save. In the 98th minute Inácio Abrantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Óscar Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over Aveleiras could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SC Ervins throughout the match.
