Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Paulo Ramos made the kick off and thus started the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Heitor Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Umbria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heitor Melo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Heitor Melo struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Jorge Torres didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Umbria. In the 13th minute Paulo Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jorge Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquim Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Santos in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, SC Umbria's Heitor Melo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jorge Torres made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Duarte Ribeiro's late challenge caught a SC Umbria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Duarte Ribeiro helped the player get up and apologised. Joaquim Cabral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Inácio Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duarte Ribeiro was shown his second yellow card after 47 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of SC Umbria booed when SC Guardizela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duarte Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Heitor Melo made the kick off in the second half. After 61 minutes of play, SC Guardizela's Jorge Santos made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquim Cabral was left in no man's land by his defense there! SC Guardizela's Jorge Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joaquim Cabral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jorge Santos in the 70th minute. If Heitor Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heitor Melo in the 85th minute of play forced SC Guardizela's goalkeeper Jorge Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 90 minutes into the game, SC Umbria's Heitor Melo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jorge Torres made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. SC Umbria's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
