After 2 minutes, Samuel Aveiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Balurcos and the Valadas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Samuel Aveiro kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. After having played for 6 minutes, Armando Calheiros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balurcos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armando Calheiros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Valadas FC's Fernando Oliveira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Valadas FC from getting a goal against them. Balurcos's Mário Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandro Alves in the 9th minute of play. Fernando Oliveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Calheiros in the 12th minute of the match. When Paulo Moniz fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valadas FC's protests and gave Paulo Moniz a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Valadas FC's Paulo Moniz got a free kick in the 20th minute. Miguel Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mário Ferraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandro Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the match, Valadas FC's goalkeeper Fernando Oliveira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eurico Passos. Júlio Pires's late challenge caught a Balurcos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Júlio Pires helped the player get up and apologised. Júlio Pires hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Valadas FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 31st minute, when Armando Calheiros scored to the left of an out of position Fernando Oliveira, making the score, 2-0. In the 35th minute Armando Calheiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Oliveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eurico Passos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Fernando Oliveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Armando Calheiros to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Balurcos's zone, Sandro Alves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mário Ferraz came out of the goal and Sandro Alves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Armando Calheiros in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernando Oliveira saved Valadas FC from getting behind. Fernando Oliveira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eurico Passos's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Mário Ferraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Nunes in the 64th minute of the match. In the 66th minute Eurico Passos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Oliveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Armando Calheiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Eurico Passos struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Fernando Oliveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Balurcos. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Balurcos had won after a very even match.
