Aquilino Seixas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrique Lopes in the 19th minute of play. Honorato Noronha hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Cernache's Adolfo Macedo got a free kick in the 34th minute. André Sá took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Heitor Pires. Cernache's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 37 played minutes Esmoriz got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Prestes. Esmoriz's Aquilino Seixas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Esmoriz from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Martins was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Cernache getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Adolfo Macedo hit a great ball. In the 60th minute, Henrique Lopes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cernache fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Cernache's Heitor Pires proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Cernache from getting a goal against them. 82 minutes into the match, Honorato Noronha dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Heitor Pires, 2-1. António Cabral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Heitor Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Esmoriz's Heitor Pires threw himself towards the right post 90 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Honorato Noronha, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 92nd minute, Esmoriz's Sandro Paredes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Heitor Pires. Heitor Pires yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. The Esmoriz players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Cernache from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
