Catarino Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, SC Macieira's David Cerqueira got control of the ball when Augusto Carneiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 23rd minute, David Setúbal fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. David Setúbal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 30 played minutes Sardoura got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Vieira. Hipólito Rios, 31 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Paulo Veiga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Liberato in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35thth minute of the game Augusto Carneiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Macieira's David Cerqueira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 37th minute of the game. One of Sardoura:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Macieira:s goal. The referee gave SC Macieira a penalty, 39 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hipólito Rios, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sardoura's Paulo Veiga. 0-1. In the 44th minute, Catarino Cardoso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Catarino Cardoso made a kick off. Alexandre Liberato might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Veiga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexandre Liberato ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 56th minute, Catarino Cardoso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexandre Liberato during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 60 played minutes SC Macieira got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Liberato. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Catarino Cardoso took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Paulo Veiga to make any attempt to save it. Catarino Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Paulo Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Catarino Cardoso in the 72nd minute of play. After some careless play in the SC Macieira defense, Augusto Carneiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of David Cerqueira. The SC Macieira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that David Cerqueira should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cláudio Santarém during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 84th minute, Cláudio Santarém hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Augusto Carneiro struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. David Cerqueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sardoura. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Carneiro in the 95th minute of play forced SC Macieira's goalkeeper David Cerqueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Macieira walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
