Eusébio Guerreiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francisco Pinho during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Francisco Pinho hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Joel Sá in the 21stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. A very good chance. 33 minutes into the match, Joaquim Leal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eusébio Guerreiro. Chaens's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joaquim Leal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Alexandre Gueifão struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Eusébio Guerreiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lagielas. Lagielas's Amílcar Gonçalves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Lagielas from getting a goal against them. Amílcar Gonçalves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Campos in the 42nd minute of the match. Alexandre Gueifão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Guerreiro having to interfere. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alexandre Gueifão to strike the kick off in the second half. Chaens's Eusébio Guerreiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Gueifão in the 61st minute of play. Lagielas's Francisco Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucas Lopes during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 65 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Chaens! The goalkeeper, Eusébio Guerreiro, was totally fooled by Lagielas's Ricardo Assis, who 67 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side.
