If Paulino Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Claudemiro Quintanilha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Peter Zander having to make a save. In the 7th match minute, GD Ribeirão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeu Vale to maneuver through the defense. When GD Ribeirão's Rubim Ponte in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of GD Ribeirão booed when Ansião United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Israel Neto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Isac Vasconcelos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ukko Määttänen, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ansião United's zone, Ukko Määttänen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isac Vasconcelos came out of the goal and Ukko Määttänen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 33 minutes into the match, GD Ribeirão's goal looked a bit too open when Januário Viana came free, but Peter Zander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rubim Ponte in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Isac Vasconcelos saved Ansião United from getting behind. Lúcio Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Aldo Pegado was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 43 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of Ansião United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of GD Ribeirão:s goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Laureano Veloso to make the kick off. Rubim Ponte made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 52ndth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Isac Vasconcelos would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. After a rather tough play, Ansião United's Paulo Salazar got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Ansião United's Isac Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lúcio Alcântara in the 56th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in GD Ribeirão's zone, Israel Neto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Zander came out of the goal and Israel Neto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 59 minutes, Leonardo Teixeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GD Ribeirão and the Ansião United players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ansião United booed when GD Ribeirão was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Jorge Lobo came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Ansião United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Lobo couldn't finish the play. Paulino Cabral kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Ansião United's Isac Vasconcelos got control of the ball when Lúcio Alcântara tried to sneak it across the goal line.
