Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hélio Póvoas, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 13 played minutes Arrifana FC got a freekick which was hit by Frederico Sales. Giuseppe Ramalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sidónio Paixão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Afonso Nascimento's late challenge caught a Arrifana FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonso Nascimento helped the player get up and apologised. After 17 played minutes Dideias FC got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Nascimento. If Amos Bellomo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the game, Igor Gniewek was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dideias FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arrifana FC the free kick. The supporters of Arrifana FC booed when Dideias FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Gniewek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mihály Pulai kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the game, Afonso Junqueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arrifana FC's Plácido Saraiva was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Giuseppe Ramalho in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 41 minutes into the match, Dideias FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sidónio Paixão came free, but Giuseppe Ramalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 41 minutes of play Dideias FC's Igor Gniewek was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After having played for 48 minutes, Sidónio Paixão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arrifana FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sidónio Paixão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When Frederico Salgueiro fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dideias FC's protests and gave Frederico Salgueiro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Arrifana FC booed when Dideias FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frederico Salgueiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd match minute, Dideias FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gunnar Hellström to maneuver through the defense. After 77 minutes of play, Arrifana FC's Toni Huarte made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Giuseppe Ramalho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Toni Huarte's late challenge caught a Dideias FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. In the 83rd minute of the match Gunnar Hellström shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hélio Póvoas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Matías Azevedo hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. 88 minutes in the game, Matías Azevedo got a free kick from a good position and fired away a shot. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
