Vaggelis Kotsalos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 7 minutes into the match, Vaz FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nuno Baptista came free, but Vladimiro Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Vaz FC's goalkeeper Vladimiro Medeiros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Severiano Dias. After 14 played minutes Vaz FC got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Mourinho. 19 minutes into the match, Flavio Xabel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vaggelis Kotsalos. Alheira FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Flavio Xabel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Vaggelis Kotsalos came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Vaz FC's Ricardo Mourinho. But to his dismay, Ricardo Mourinho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 27th match minute, Alheira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Pegado to maneuver through the defense. Vaggelis Kotsalos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caio Liberato in the 28th minute of the match. The Vaz FC fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Vaz FC's Ricardo Mourinho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassiano Gusmão in the 34th minute of play forced Vaz FC's goalkeeper Vladimiro Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vaz FC's Vladimiro Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassiano Gusmão in the 36th minute of play. Vladimiro Medeiros made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Nuno Baptista sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute of the match Alheira FC got a corner. Vaz FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adelino Gusmão ran over to the corner to take the kick. Nicolau Simões hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Vaggelis Kotsalos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodor Cercel, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Teodor Cercel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Severiano Dias to make the kick off. With a little luck, Alheira FC's Vaggelis Kotsalos got control of the ball when Ricardo Mourinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Severiano Dias in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vladimiro Medeiros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vladimiro Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassiano Gusmão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 63 minutes, Cassiano Gusmão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alheira FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cassiano Gusmão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 64 played minutes Alheira FC got a freekick which was hit by Aristides Machado. Alheira FC's Vaggelis Kotsalos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavio Xabel in the 68th minute of play. After 95 played minutes Vaz FC got a freekick which was hit by Egídio Zambujal.
