After a rather tough play, Gremio Viana's Tony Påk got a free kick in the 7th minute. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Joaquim Paredes put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Kristopher Johnson. 14 minutes into the match, Miroslav Klose had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Samuel Fiúza. Gremio Viana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Miroslav Klose was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Fabiano Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Miroslav Klose's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Samuel Fiúza was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Thanks to some nice moves Miroslav Klose could shoot a difficult shot in the 26th minute, which Samuel Fiúza however easily saved by the left post. Kristopher Johnson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Paredes, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 29 minutes into the game, Joaquim Paredes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Kristopher Johnson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kristopher Johnson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Paredes, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. A sloppy throw-in by Alexandre Silva in the 37th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Gremio Viana's Tony Påk. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Paredes in the 38th minute of play forced QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s goalkeeper Kristopher Johnson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miroslav Klose sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 42nd minute of the match, Miroslav Klose got a very nice opportunity to score, but Samuel Fiúza was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 44 minutes into the game, Gremio Viana's Joaquim Paredes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kristopher Johnson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After the first half Gremio Viana were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Miroslav Klose to strike the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ilídio Abrantes. Alexandre Silva made in the 57th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Gremio Viana's Amado Melo. In the 63rd minute Joaquim Paredes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristopher Johnson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 63 minutes of play, Gremio Viana's Joaquim Paredes made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kristopher Johnson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gremio Viana made a substitution. Carlos Luna replaced Joaquim Paredes. The supporters of QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. booed when Gremio Viana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augustin Panaiteanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miroslav Klose in the 70th minute of play forced Gremio Viana's goalkeeper Samuel Fiúza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ilídio Abrantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gremio Viana made a substitution. Mohamed Ali Bomba replaced Severino Torcato. Gremio Viana's Amado Melo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alexandre Silva, made in the 84th minute of the game. QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s Kristopher Johnson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Luna in the 85th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabiano Medeiros during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 87 played minutes QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Fabiano Medeiros. Kristopher Johnson stood somewhat misplaced when Carlos Luna came free in front of goal and shot 1-5 to the left of him in the 89 minute. After 91 played minutes Gremio Viana got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Luna. Augustin Panaiteanu kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Gremio Viana's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
