After 3 played minutes Helston AFC got a freekick which was hit by Aribisala Abioye. Rafael Aikhomu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezekiel Okorodudu in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the game, Erhabor Nwaiwu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Rafael Aikhomu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Erhabor Nwaiwu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Aikhomu having to interfere. Ezekiel Okorodudu might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafael Aikhomu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ezekiel Okorodudu ran back to his position shaking his head. 27 minutes into the game, Dumetolisa Kimitei was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Petersfield City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Helston AFC the free kick. Dumetolisa Kimitei kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Nwokezuike Ajogi made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Omeokachie Onigbinde sent off a good shot on target. After 33 played minutes, Petersfield City's Chijioke Lere shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rafael Aikhomu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Petersfield City reached it. After some careless play in the Helston AFC defense, Ezekiel Okorodudu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafael Aikhomu. The Helston AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafael Aikhomu should have stopped the shot. Dumetolisa Kimitei was shown his second yellow card after 37 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 38 played minutes Petersfield City got a freekick which was hit by Dumetolisa Kimitei. John Dauda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Aikhomu having to interfere. The supporters of Petersfield City booed when Helston AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dube Tambiyi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Omeokachie Onigbinde in the 43rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nwokezuike Ajogi, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to Helston AFC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Bimbo Iroha hit a great ball. Rafael Aikhomu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erhabor Nwaiwu in the 47th minute of the match. After 47 minutes, Okwuadigbo Idahor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Helston AFC and the Petersfield City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Erhabor Nwaiwu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Aikhomu having to interfere.

Nwokezuike Ajogi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Omeokachie Onigbinde in the 54th minute of play. Omeokachie Onigbinde's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nwokezuike Ajogi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Nwokezuike Ajogi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nedu Mochaa in the 60th minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, Helston AFC's goalkeeper Rafael Aikhomu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erhabor Nwaiwu. If Shekwodiza Obafuso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erhabor Nwaiwu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Aikhomu having to interfere. 76 minutes into the game, Petersfield City's Shekwodiza Obafuso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rafael Aikhomu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. In the 80th minute Nedu Mochaa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nwokezuike Ajogi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chinonyelum Ajatta kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. When the match clock showed 84 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Omeokachie Onigbinde sped through Petersfield City's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nwokezuike Ajogi. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chinonyelum Ajatta during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 88th match minute, Petersfield City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chinonyelum Ajatta to maneuver through the defense.
