In the 8thth minute of the game Chukwudi Henry Iyenemi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sidmouth United's Adigun Chukuka was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Abass Odumegwu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chukwudi Henry Iyenemi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adigun Chukuka having to interfere. Chukwudi Henry Iyenemi might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adigun Chukuka. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chukwudi Henry Iyenemi ran back to his position shaking his head. After 18 minutes of play, Sidmouth United's Ifeanacho Amasi made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chigozie Diya was left in no man's land by his defense there! Maxwell Wambai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maxwell Wambai couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxwell Wambai in the 27th minute of play forced Knapton's goalkeeper Chigozie Diya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chukwudi Henry Iyenemi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. In the 40th minute Chukwudi Henry Iyenemi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adigun Chukuka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 48 minutes, Ifeanacho Amasi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sidmouth United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ifeanacho Amasi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Maxwell Wambai made a kick off. Maxwell Wambai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Chigozie Diya showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maxwell Wambai in the 62nd minute of the match. Adigun Chukuka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abass Odumegwu, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. When the match clock showed 83 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Abass Odumegwu sped through Sidmouth United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Adigun Chukuka. Sunusi Omeokachie's late challenge caught a Knapton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sunusi Omeokachie helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th minute, Sunusi Omeokachie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Chukwudi Henry Iyenemi came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Knapton fans jumped to their feet.
