After a rather tough play, Pirate Captain F.C's Goodness Iyawe got a free kick in the 4th minute. After 9 played minutes Ormskirk got a freekick which was hit by Fidelis Atuegbu. When Madukwe Atere came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Pirate Captain F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Madukwe Atere couldn't finish the play. In the 18th match minute, Pirate Captain F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Onwubiko Shawulu to maneuver through the defense. Abass Ogunmekan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osaze Pama, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abass Ogunmekan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dahiru Otere, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Ormskirk's Chuma Abbey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Ormskirk from getting a goal against them. 29 minutes into the game, Onwubiko Shawulu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pirate Captain F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ormskirk the free kick. Onwubiko Shawulu kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Ibeabuchi Yussuf hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Osaze Pama fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abass Ogunmekan having to interfere. After 37 played minutes Pirate Captain F.C got a freekick which was hit by Mala Omehia. Abass Ogunmekan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dahiru Otere, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ormskirk's Dahiru Otere in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pirate Captain F.C's goalie prevented a goal. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Pirate Captain F.C's goalkeeper Abass Ogunmekan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 44 minutes into the game, Madukwe Atere cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Chuma Abbey was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

56 minutes into the match, Ormskirk's goal looked a bit too open when Madukwe Atere came free, but Chuma Abbey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osaze Pama sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Pirate Captain F.C's zone, Dahiru Otere stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abass Ogunmekan came out of the goal and Dahiru Otere tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kunle Fregene during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Pirate Captain F.C getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Kunle Fregene hit a great ball. Abass Ogunmekan was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Izu Ifesinachi. In the 70th minute, Dahiru Otere got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 72 minutes, Abass Ogunmekan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Abass Ogunmekan made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Dahiru Otere sent off a good shot on target. 74 minutes in the game, Osaze Pama fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Abass Ogunmekan having to interfere. Osaze Pama sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dahiru Otere got free with Abass Ogunmekan in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Madukwe Atere managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pirate Captain F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Madukwe Atere was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chuma Abbey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dahiru Otere could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Abass Ogunmekan made a huge save. Abass Ogunmekan didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 93rd minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
