Chibuzor Diya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Uzo Aguele tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kendal's Uzo Aguele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chibuzor Diya in the 7th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Kendal's zone, Victor Obinna Uchara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Uzo Aguele came out of the goal and Victor Obinna Uchara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nwakaego Babangida blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Uzo Aguele having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Chibuzor Diya managed to get in a good position for a shot. Osun United's supporters rose to their feet, but Chibuzor Diya was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Uzo Aguele breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Uzo Aguele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chibuzor Diya in the 14th minute of the match. With a little luck, Kendal's Uzo Aguele got control of the ball when Victor Obinna Uchara tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Samson Kimitei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bankole Umeana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ifenemonye Okwudili in the 20th minute of the match. Osinachi Agege might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Uzo Aguele. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Osinachi Agege ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 26th minute, Oguejiofor Eziaghighala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Obinna Uchara in the 28th minute of play forced Kendal's goalkeeper Uzo Aguele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chibuzor Diyas short, quick shot in the 46thth minute got Uzo Aguele to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Nwakaego Babangida made the kick off in the second half. Osun United's Nwakaego Babangida got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Kendal's zone, Nwakaego Babangida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Uzo Aguele came out of the goal and Nwakaego Babangida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thompson Aminu's late challenge caught a Osun United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thompson Aminu helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Kendal's Thompson Aminu got a free kick in the 55th minute. Victor Obinna Uchara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Uzo Aguele tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th minute Nwakaego Babangida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uzo Aguele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 1-0 became the score in the 58th minute when Nwakaego Babangida elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Chibuzor Diya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Osinachi Agege fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uzo Aguele having to interfere. Uzo Aguele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chibuzor Diya in the 70th minute of the match. Nwakaego Babangida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Nwakaego Babangida's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Uzo Aguele was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. If Chibuzor Diya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, Chibuzor Diya notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Kendal's Uzo Aguele. Uzo Aguele was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nwakaego Babangida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 90thth minute of the game Victor Obinna Uchara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kendal's Uzo Aguele was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Osinachi Agege sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Uzo Aguele took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Obinna Uchara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 96 minutes, Ifenemonye Okwudili managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kendal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ifenemonye Okwudili was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee ended the match the Osun United players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
