When Yari Abanum fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Redhill's protests and gave Yari Abanum a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th minute, Chimaraoke Ewuga sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Redhill's Ben Edidiong Uzoeululu didn't even have to move. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by Braintree AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Steve Uja was slow to take the kick. During this time Redhill's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Udegbulam Akinboboye got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kabir Alozie quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of Redhill booed when Braintree AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gbenga Okoroanyanwu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enang Ibirogba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ben Edidiong Uzoeululu having to interfere. Otito Ayongo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Ben Edidiong Uzoeululu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Redhill's Yari Abanum got a free kick in the 23rd minute. If Gbenga Okoroanyanwu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ben Edidiong Uzoeululu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Otito Ayongo in the 27th minute of play. Redhill's Ben Edidiong Uzoeululu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otito Ayongo in the 28th minute of play. Redhill's Ben Edidiong Uzoeululu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Redhill from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Gbenga Okoroanyanwu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ben Edidiong Uzoeululu. That made the score 1-0 in the 30 minute of play. Chimaraoke Ewuga hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Kabir Alozie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samson Chukwuma Olorunleke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gbenga Okoroanyanwu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Otito Ayongo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Udegbulam Akinboboye's late challenge caught a Braintree AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Udegbulam Akinboboye helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Redhill getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Udegbulam Akinboboye hit a great ball. Ben Edidiong Uzoeululu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gbenga Okoroanyanwu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 53 played minutes Redhill got a freekick which was hit by Adenuga Affe. Ben Edidiong Uzoeululu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gbenga Okoroanyanwu in the 55th minute of play. After 55 minutes of play Redhill's Adenuga Affe was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Redhill's Adenuga Affe got a free kick in the 56th minute. Redhill's Ben Edidiong Uzoeululu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gbenga Okoroanyanwu in the 59th minute of play. In the 60th match minute, Redhill was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yari Abanum to maneuver through the defense. Samson Chukwuma Olorunleke received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kabir Alozie came out and tried to block the shot, but Samson Chukwuma Olorunleke slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 65th minute. In the 68th minute, Otito Ayongo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gbenga Okoroanyanwu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Ben Edidiong Uzoeululu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gbenga Okoroanyanwu kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Redhill's Yari Abanum got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 91st minute, Otito Ayongo made a precise shot to the right of Ben Edidiong Uzoeululu. Redhill's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Ben Edidiong Uzoeululu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Otito Ayongo, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Braintree AFC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
