Tomi Siasia came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Braintree AFC's Otito Ayongo. But to his dismay, Otito Ayongo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ndukaku Amadi during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ndukaku Amadi hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. 10 minutes into the match, Bromsgrove's goal looked a bit too open when Gbenga Okoroanyanwu came free, but Tomi Siasia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomi Siasia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Otito Ayongo in the 18th minute of the match. Ndukaku Amadi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Kabir Alozie made a huge save. Kabir Alozie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adolphus Egboh's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Kabir Alozie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ndukaku Amadi in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute, Enang Ibirogba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kabir Alozie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolphus Egboh, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Tomi Siasia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otito Ayongo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the match, Bromsgrove's goal looked a bit too open when Gbenga Okoroanyanwu came free, but Tomi Siasia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Braintree AFC booed when Bromsgrove was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Udokamma Afolayan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute, Ndukaku Amadi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 39th minute Adolphus Egboh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kabir Alozie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Braintree AFC's goalkeeper Kabir Alozie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ndukaku Amadi. After a defensive mix-up in Braintree AFC's zone, Ndukaku Amadi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kabir Alozie came out of the goal and Ndukaku Amadi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kosiso Smart's late challenge caught a Bromsgrove's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kosiso Smart helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Braintree AFC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Kosiso Smart hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adolphus Egboh to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gbenga Okoroanyanwu got free with Tomi Siasia in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adolphus Egboh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 64 played minutes, Bromsgrove's Ukaegbunam Maikunkele shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kabir Alozie came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bromsgrove reached it. Enang Ibirogba charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enang Ibirogba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 65 played minutes Braintree AFC got a freekick which was hit by Enang Ibirogba. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ndukaku Amadi in the 76th minute of play forced Braintree AFC's goalkeeper Kabir Alozie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute, Ndukaku Amadi made a precise shot to the right of Kabir Alozie. Braintree AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Bromsgrove's Tomi Siasia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Bromsgrove from getting a goal against them. Kabir Alozie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adolphus Egboh in the 82nd minute of play. In the 97th minute there was a penalty for Bromsgrove. Aniedi Bunu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Kabir Alozie. 3-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Braintree AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bromsgrove.
