The supporters of Lagos FC booed when Launceston United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chigbo Rotimi didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ezekiel Akinwunmi fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lagos FC's protests and gave Ezekiel Akinwunmi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Lagos FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Ezekiel Akinwunmi hit a great ball. Lagos FC's Deyour Oyai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Onyeorulu Ogbon in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Onyeorulu Ogbon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Launceston United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. A hard shot 17 in the game by Osaze Udem from a close distance when the talented Johnmark Adebisi managed to make a qualified save. Launceston United's players were relieved. In the 19th minute Ime Imaji shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnmark Adebisi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Johnmark Adebisi didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Lagos FC's Ime Imaji shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. With a little luck, Launceston United's Johnmark Adebisi got control of the ball when Oluwatosin Johnson Famewo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Lagos FC's zone, Onyeorulu Ogbon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Deyour Oyai came out of the goal and Onyeorulu Ogbon tried to chip the ball over his head. In the 33rd match minute, Launceston United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anayochukwu Egungbe to maneuver through the defense. Lagos FC's Omolola Babangida couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 35th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Launceston United. In the 36th minute, Gorom Bature hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oluwatosin Johnson Famewo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ime Imaji to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpected shot in the 54th minute by Onyeorulu Ogbon got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a defensive mix-up in Lagos FC's zone, Kwemto Onatoye stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Deyour Oyai came out of the goal and Kwemto Onatoye tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Osaze Udem sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Buch Pama hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Deyour Oyai was a little too slow when Kwemto Onatoye got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 78th minute. The score was now 1-3. In the 86th minute Ime Imaji shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnmark Adebisi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osaze Udem received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Johnmark Adebisi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Johnmark Adebisi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ime Imaji, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Launceston United's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
