In the 14th minute Simon Enoch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Alade Adeshina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th match minute, Wootton Bassett was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dumeto Oretan to maneuver through the defense. When Julius Ganiyu was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 21 minutes had been played. If Isaac Mochaa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wellington's Daniel Alade Adeshina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tarila Sharah in the 31st minute of play. In the 36th minute, Tobe Iriah got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 37 minutes into the match, Wootton Bassett's goal looked a bit too open when Somadina Olamilekan came free, but Iroawuchi Adelabu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Alade Adeshina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isaac Mochaa in the 38th minute of the match. If Isaac Mochaa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isaac Mochaa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Daniel Alade Adeshina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tobe Iriah to strike the kick off in the second half. If Isaac Mochaa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. Wootton Bassett's Eddy Dukumor got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Alade Adeshina made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isaac Mochaa in the 66th minute. In the 67th minute, Tarila Sharah reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Daniel Alade Adeshina. The goal made the score 0-1.
