The audience thought a goal was coming when Hashimu Ikani got free with Aderounmu Njoku in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ijeagha adegbenjo struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Okuweh Adeyemi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Daniel united. Ijeli Mbong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Okuweh Adeyemi having to interfere. Okuweh Adeyemi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ijeagha adegbenjo's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Aderounmu Njoku made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bola Angani in the 25th minute of play. The Daniel united fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Daniel united's Ijeagha adegbenjo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Ijeagha adegbenjo put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Okuweh Adeyemi. Okuweh Adeyemi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ijeagha adegbenjo in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 38th minute Ijeagha adegbenjo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Okuweh Adeyemi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ijeagha adegbenjo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The supporters of Daniel united booed when Burnham on Crouch was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gordon Nwaorgu didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ijeagha adegbenjo couldn't finish the play. 69 minutes into the game, Bola Angani was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Burnham on Crouch's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Daniel united the free kick. In the 81st minute, Bola Angani left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Burnham on Crouch fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Madueke Ekwensi in the 84th minute of play forced Daniel united's goalkeeper Aderounmu Njoku to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hashimu Ikani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aderounmu Njoku having to interfere. When Hashimu Ikani fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Burnham on Crouch's protests and gave Hashimu Ikani a yellow card for diving instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Daniel united had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
