Emelogu Oruma could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Nkemakolam Ezedinma made a huge save. Leicester's Enang Akosu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Usman Okutubo in the 14th minute of play. Nkemakolam Ezedinma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kambina Datoru in the 20th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Leicester's zone, Robai Julius Eromoigbe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Nkemakolam Ezedinma successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 36 minutes into the match, Stonehouse's goal looked a bit too open when Emelogu Oruma came free, but Nkemakolam Ezedinma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute, Emelogu Oruma made a precise shot to the right of Nkemakolam Ezedinma. Stonehouse's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. In the 40th minute, Magnus Ukaoha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Dan Mbonu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Leicester getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Chiefo Ekata hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Stonehouse's Abel Agidani got a free kick in the 45th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 47 minutes into the game, when Osondu Ibekwe put in a rough tackle. The supporters of Stonehouse booed when Leicester was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osondu Ibekwe didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by JohnObi Obafuso during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 54th match minute, Stonehouse was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by JohnObi Obafuso to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Leicester's Igwebuike Obasa tried to score from far away in the 54th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 57th match minute, Leicester was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dan Mbonu to maneuver through the defense. Leicester's Dan Mbonu got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nkemakolam Ezedinma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Mbonu in the 69th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Leicester's goal looked a bit too open when Magnus Ukaoha came free, but Enang Akosu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nkemakolam Ezedinma came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Leicester's Dan Mbonu. But to his dismay, Dan Mbonu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. In the 84thth minute of the game Igwebuike Obasa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stonehouse's Nkemakolam Ezedinma was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 86th minute, Usman Okutubo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nkemakolam Ezedinma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Mbonu, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After a rather tough play, Leicester's Emelogu Oruma got a free kick in the 92nd minute. 96 minutes into the match, Stonehouse's goal looked a bit too open when Dan Mbonu came free, but Nkemakolam Ezedinma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Usman Okutubo fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stonehouse's protests and gave Usman Okutubo a yellow card for diving instead. 98 minutes into the game, Leicester's Dan Mbonu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nkemakolam Ezedinma made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Leicester were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
