Moutawakkil Sbai came out of the goal and Ashraf El Hamdaoui tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amezyan Boughanem in the 40th minute of play forced Al-Hoceima's goalkeeper Moutawakkil Sbai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Al-Hoceima fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 75 minutes into the game, Ashraf El Hamdaoui cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Moutawakkil Sbai was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Moutawakkil Sbai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amezyan Boughanem, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Fahd Falah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jalal Naybet having to interfere. Al-Hoceima's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
