When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Rida Ahanfouf took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Nacer Kharja to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Taroudant AS's Nacer Kharja got control of the ball when Omar Zerouali tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the El Jadida Raja defense, Taoufiq Merzouk kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fayssal Tafersit. The El Jadida Raja fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fayssal Tafersit should have stopped the shot. 20 minutes into the match, El Jadida Raja's goal looked a bit too open when Taoufiq Merzouk came free, but Fayssal Tafersit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Taoufiq Merzouk managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taroudant AS's supporters rose to their feet, but Taoufiq Merzouk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rida Ahanfouf made a kick off. Nacer El Ghrib fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fayssal Tafersit having to interfere. Fayssal Tafersit didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 74th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. Fayssal Tafersit showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nacer El Ghrib in the 81st minute of the match. If Rida Ahanfouf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The Taroudant AS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Taroudant AS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
