Bristol Kingswood's Basil Skipton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Bristol Kingswood from getting a goal against them. Mike Marriott showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Frost, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After 13 played minutes Bristol Kingswood got a freekick which was hit by Peter Brazier. Peter Steed fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basil Skipton having to interfere. Bristol Kingswood's Basil Skipton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Steed in the 16th minute of play. Joe Ross could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Basil Skipton made a huge save. In the 21st minute Felix Frost shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Marriott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Kimpton United's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Frost came free, but Mike Marriott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Bristol Kingswood's zone, Peter Steed stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basil Skipton came out of the goal and Peter Steed tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Kimpton United booed when Bristol Kingswood was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peter Brazier didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd match minute, Bristol Kingswood was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peter Brazier to maneuver through the defense. Basil Skipton was a little too slow when Joe Ross got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 36th minute. The score was now 1-0. Joe Ross could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Basil Skipton made a huge save. In the 44th minute Tommy Ridgeway shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Marriott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 46 played minutes Bristol Kingswood got a freekick which was hit by Zack Strickland.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Felix Frost was the one to do the kick off. In the 61st minute, Tommy Ridgeway fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Mike Marriott , passed just outside the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Steed in the 63rd minute of play forced Bristol Kingswood's goalkeeper Basil Skipton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kimpton United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Felix Frost scored to the left of an out of position Mike Marriott , making the score, 1-1. Felix Frost received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Mike Marriott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miles Butterfield charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Miles Butterfield the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Bristol Kingswood booed when Kimpton United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miles Butterfield didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bristol Kingswood's Tommy Ridgeway got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kimpton United's Joe Ross got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joe Ross struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Basil Skipton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kimpton United. In the 81stth minute of the game Peter Steed who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bristol Kingswood's Basil Skipton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Basil Skipton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Steed in the 86th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Kimpton United's zone, Tommy Ridgeway stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mike Marriott came out of the goal and Tommy Ridgeway tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felix Frost's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mike Marriott read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Peter Steed got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joe Ross fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basil Skipton having to interfere.
