After a defensive mix-up in Blackheath's zone, Dylon Mumford stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rhys Digby came out of the goal and Dylon Mumford tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 10th match minute, Ferryton United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodd Vaughn to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bradley Blewitt got free with Mickey Clifton in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Reg Bourton shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Blackheath's Biagio Censi got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Ferryton United getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Warren Simpson hit a great ball. Blackheath's Biagio Censi got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Biagio Censis short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Mickey Clifton to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Ross Lineker took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Mickey Clifton to make any attempt to save it. If Ryan Lewington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Biagio Censi in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mickey Clifton saved Ferryton United from getting behind. In the 41st minute of the match, Ray Hay tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mickey Clifton saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Biagio Censi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mickey Clifton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Biagio Censi made a kick off. A collision led to Ferryton United getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Reg Bourton hit a great ball. Mickey Clifton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Biagio Censi, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Warren Simpson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rhys Digby read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Biagio Censi in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mickey Clifton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Brian Corrigan struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Mickey Clifton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blackheath. Jeremy Daly blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mickey Clifton having to make a save. With a little luck, Blackheath's Rhys Digby got control of the ball when Dylon Mumford tried to sneak it across the goal line. 66 minutes into the game, Dylon Mumford recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rhys Digby . Dylon Mumford showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After having played for 71 minutes, Dylon Mumford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ferryton United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dylon Mumford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rhys Digby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Warren Simpson in the 73rd minute of the match. The supporters of Ferryton United booed when Blackheath was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brian Corrigan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes into the game, Ross Lineker cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Mickey Clifton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 83 minutes into the game, Brian Corrigan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Blackheath's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ferryton United the free kick. A collision led to Blackheath getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Brian Corrigan hit a great ball. 86 minutes into the match, Biagio Censi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mickey Clifton . Ferryton United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Biagio Censi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Blackheath's Rhys Digby proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Blackheath from getting a goal against them. In a very dangerous position, a player in Blackheath fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 94th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Rhys Digby , was totally fooled by Ferryton United's Reg Bourton , who 96 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. There was no doubt that Blackheath were the better team. Blackheath's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
