Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Zackary Blackburn started the match with the kick off. Jake Stone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Galway, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Martin Emberson hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Kurt Best fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jake Stone having to interfere. The audience was convinced that John Galway's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jake Stone was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. After 25 played minutes Lowestoft AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ian Neill. John Galway's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jake Stone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. After some careless play in the Blackpool defense, Sean McDermot kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gary Haines . The Blackpool fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gary Haines should have stopped the shot. Gary Haines showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sean McDermot , who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After 36 minutes of play, Lowestoft AFC's Sean McDermot made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gary Haines was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Sean McDermot managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lowestoft AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sean McDermot was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for John Galway to strike the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Blackpool's goalkeeper Gary Haines had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sean McDermot . When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Sean McDermot took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Gary Haines to make any attempt to save it. Sean McDermot could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Gary Haines made a huge save. When Rueben Pitts fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Blackpool's protests and gave Rueben Pitts a yellow card for diving instead. After 72 played minutes Blackpool got a freekick which was hit by Rueben Pitts . After 74 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Blackpool! When Stephen Hassell fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Blackpool's protests and gave Stephen Hassell a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Blackpool getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Stephen Hassell hit a great ball. In the 88th minute John Galway shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jake Stone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute, Kurt Best got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Blackpool getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Steven Murray hit a great ball. The Lowestoft AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lowestoft AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
