After a defensive mix-up in Tiverton FC's zone, Eamonn Wishart stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doug Coyle came out of the goal and Eamonn Wishart tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mattias Pallister fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fitz Paine having to interfere. Fitz Paine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sammy Parsons in the 22nd minute of the match. When Sammy Parsons came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Tiverton FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sammy Parsons couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, Forest Hill City's Doug Coyle threw himself towards the right post 33 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marty Bradbury , which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Denzil Winterbottom struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Doug Coyle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Forest Hill City. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Marty Bradbury put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Doug Coyle. Marty Bradbury fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doug Coyle having to interfere. Mattias Pallister recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sammy Parsons to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Marty Bradbury managed to get in a good position for a shot. Forest Hill City's supporters rose to their feet, but Marty Bradbury was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doug Coyle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tiverton FC's attack was well implemented in the 63rd minute, but when Sammy Parsons was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Doug Coyle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Marty Bradbury came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Forest Hill City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marty Bradbury couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Forest Hill City had won after a very even match.
