The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Brendon Gilchrist made the kick off in the second half. Phil Lightfoot came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Swanley's Robin Mann . But to his dismay, Robin Mann quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Martin Bateson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Swanley booed when Ince was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Ballantine didn't get a good kick on the ball. William Mahon thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Phil Lightfoot , a very annoying self made goal in the 64th minute which led to 3-0. Eric Cotton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Phil Lightfoot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ince's Phil Lightfoot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charlie Walker in the 71st minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Swanley's goalkeeper Francis Colbert had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martin Bateson . Ince's Martin Bateson got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Simon Pickard hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Ince's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Bateson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Swanley's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
