Gary Gamble was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry Pugh in the 13th minute of play forced Ballygrooby Wanderers's goalkeeper Gary Gamble to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Graeme Healy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Gary Gamble tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Harry Pugh's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gary Gamble was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Gary Gamble showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harry Pugh, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Gary Gamble took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harry Pugh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Graeme Healy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Craig Lyons hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. When Harry Pugh came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Dalton In Furness fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harry Pugh couldn't finish the play. Graeme Healy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lenny Bamford could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Rufus Whittaker made a huge save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The supporters of Ballygrooby Wanderers booed when Dalton In Furness was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Spike McGuinness didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bradley Dixon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andy Allen walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. David Basham kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Dalton In Furness. After 97 played minutes Dalton In Furness got a freekick which was hit by Graeme Healy. Dalton In Furness's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
