Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) After a rather tough play, Ballygrooby Wanderers's Pat Rice got a free kick in the 2nd minute. In the 4th match minute, Levenshulme was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andy Kitchen to maneuver through the defense. Seth Hoskins blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gary Gamble having to make a save. 14 minutes into the match, Ballygrooby Wanderers's goal looked a bit too open when Derek Nightingale came free, but Gary Gamble reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Derek Nightingale kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Lenny Bamford scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lee Frost, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ronnie Askew hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 27th match minute, Levenshulme was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ben Hoult to maneuver through the defense. Levenshulme's Lee Frost played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lenny Bamford in the 29th minute of play. When Derek Nightingale fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Levenshulme's protests and gave Derek Nightingale a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Levenshulme getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Derek Nightingale hit a great ball. Gary Gamble made an important save on a dangerous shot by Philip Baum in the 32nd minute. Ben Hoult hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lenny Bamford in the 38th minute of play forced Levenshulme's goalkeeper Lee Frost to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Ballygrooby Wanderers were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Seth Hoskins to make the kick off. Lee Frost made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bradley Dixon in the 52nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ballygrooby Wanderers's Lenny Bamford got a free kick in the 55th minute. 57 minutes into the game, Seth Hoskins was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Levenshulme's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballygrooby Wanderers the free kick. In the 60th minute Bradley Dixon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lee Frost saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Bradley Dixon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gary Gamble took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Seth Hoskins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Levenshulme's zone, Lenny Bamford stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lee Frost came out of the goal and Lenny Bamford tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 73 minutes into the match, Levenshulme's goalkeeper Lee Frost had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lenny Bamford. If Lenny Bamford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lenny Bamford could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Lee Frost made a huge save.
