Andy Holt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurice Stockley having to interfere. 13 minutes into the game, Toby Ramsden was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Colo-Colo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Shrewsbury AFC the free kick. Shrewsbury AFC's Alec Milburn got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 20 minutes of play, Shrewsbury AFC's Andy Holt made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maurice Stockley was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alec Milburn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurice Stockley having to interfere. After some careless play in the Colo-Colo defense, Alec Milburn kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maurice Stockley. The Colo-Colo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maurice Stockley should have stopped the shot. Colo-Colo's Maurice Stockley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andy Holt in the 40th minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Andy Holt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Maurice Stockley was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alec Milburn struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. When Guy Neeson fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Colo-Colo's protests and gave Guy Neeson a yellow card for diving instead. Guy Neeson kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Shrewsbury AFC's Andy Holt got a free kick in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andy Holt in the 71st minute of play forced Colo-Colo's goalkeeper Maurice Stockley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Guy Neeson was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 71 minutes had been played. Martin Collins charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Martin Collins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Colo-Colo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 80th minute. Penalty! In the 84th minute, Lucas Reid Clanny hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Shrewsbury AFC fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when Shrewsbury AFC's Brian Galway looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 94 minutes into the match, Colo-Colo's goal looked a bit too open when Andy Holt came free, but Maurice Stockley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
