A wasted opportunity for Killenaule. Piers Prunty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Finian Walker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Piers Prunty in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Finian Walker saved Killenaule from getting behind. After 21 played minutes, FC Sabinow Power's Robert McLian shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Finian Walker came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Sabinow Power reached it. Finian Walker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Piers Prunty, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Dinny McCready managed to get in a good position for a shot. Killenaule's supporters rose to their feet, but Dinny McCready was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Douglas Coyle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in FC Sabinow Power's zone, Dinny McCready stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Douglas Coyle came out of the goal and Dinny McCready tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brain McMichel during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Brain McMichel kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. 43 minutes into the game, one of FC Sabinow Power:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dinny McCready made a kick off. Kealan Ryan hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Robert McLian during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Killenaule booed when FC Sabinow Power was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert McLian didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th minute Piers Prunty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Finian Walker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Dinny McCready had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Sabinow Power players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Killenaule.
