After some fancy dribbling in the 2nd minute, Conan McPhilip managed to get in a good position for a shot. Farranavarra's supporters rose to their feet, but Conan McPhilip was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Caoilte Mullan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Geary McWill came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Farranavarra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geary McWill couldn't finish the play. After having played for 5 minutes, Conan McPhilip managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Farranavarra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Conan McPhilip was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Peter Bayes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Briain Doyle in the 13th minute of the match. Farranavarra's Peter Bayes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Briain Doyle in the 16th minute of play. Bran Martyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 22 minutes, Conleth Brennan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballinakill AFC and the Farranavarra players grew even worse after the yellow card. Conleth Brennan kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. When Farranavarra's Bran Martyn in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Gordan Martyn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Bayes having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Bran Martyn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Caoilte Mullan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Joseph McAaron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 40 minutes into the match, Ballinakill AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Bran Martyn came free, but Caoilte Mullan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ballinakill AFC's Briain Doyle, in the 44th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Ballinakill AFC. Farranavarra's Peter Bayes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Briain Doyle in the 46th minute of play. After the first half Farranavarra were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bran Martyn stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Conan McPhilip, 52 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Peter Bayes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Briain Doyle in the 54th minute of the match. In the 55th match minute, Farranavarra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braonain Harkin to maneuver through the defense. Caoilte Mullan was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Bran Martyn capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bran Martyn really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Boyce Todd's late challenge caught a Farranavarra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Boyce Todd helped the player get up and apologised. Boyce Todd hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After 69 played minutes, Farranavarra's Cacey McJohnny shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Caoilte Mullan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Farranavarra reached it. Briain Doyle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Bayes having to interfere. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ballinakill AFC's goalkeeper Caoilte Mullan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 86thth minute of the game Briain Doyle who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Farranavarra's Peter Bayes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Caoilte Mullan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Peter Bayes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gordan Martyn in the 97th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Farranavarra walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
