Without hesitation aimed to the right of Brion McAlphie, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Bow Johnson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Brion McAlphie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Derrick McFrank got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Harrigan McAlphie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Beatty MaCollin in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Tipper McTom notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Ballinalack's Harrigan McAlphie. Harrigan McAlphie was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Clonarrow's Brion McAlphie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derrick McFrank in the 67th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Bow Johnson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brion McAlphie. Clonarrow's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bow Johnson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 71st minute, Tipper McTom fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Ballinalack's zone, Beatty MaCollin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harrigan McAlphie came out of the goal and Beatty MaCollin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Derrick McFrank had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
