Theodore Lester in the 10thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Donal Tierney, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in Coorlaghan's zone, Theodore Lester stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donal Tierney came out of the goal and Theodore Lester tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Donn Murphy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Theodore Lester charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Theodore Lester the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 19th match minute, Leenane AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Theodore Lester to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 20 minutes, Finbar Ryan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coorlaghan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Finbar Ryan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 21 played minutes Coorlaghan got a freekick which was hit by Bradon Cooney. Bearchan McIan hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Finbar Ryan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Booak Lavine read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Donn Murphy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coorlaghan's supporters rose to their feet, but Donn Murphy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Booak Lavine breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Leenane AFC's Bram McWilliam got a free kick in the 31st minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Donn Murphy was the one to do the kick off. After 51 minutes of play Coorlaghan's Braddon Matthews was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 52nd match minute, Coorlaghan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braddon Matthews to maneuver through the defense. Donal Tierney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bearnad McDecland in the 52nd minute of play. Leenane AFC's Bearnad McDecland got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57th minute, Finnigan Sheridan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Theodore Lester might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Donal Tierney. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Theodore Lester ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Finbar Ryan got free with Booak Lavine in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Donal Tierney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Theodore Lester, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. The audience was convinced that Bearnad McDecland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Donal Tierney was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. After 71 played minutes Coorlaghan got a freekick which was hit by Donn Murphy. 72 minutes into the game, Theodore Lester cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Donal Tierney was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Donal Tierney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bearnad McDecland, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Bearnad McDecland's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donal Tierney read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play.
