But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Richard Gillmour couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Richard Gillmour stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Donavon McPaul recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Richard Gillmour managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castlebridge's supporters rose to their feet, but Richard Gillmour was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Irwin Costello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Durrus's zone, Rigan McPhil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Irwin Costello came out of the goal and Rigan McPhil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
