Clooncogaile's Gearard McJohnny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donavin McSteve in the 21st minute of play. When Terrence Moran fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moyvoughly's protests and gave Terrence Moran a yellow card for diving instead. The long shot by Breaghdha McFrank in the 31st minute really tested Booak Caffrey's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Clooncogaile's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
