Donegal Beckett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Caimin McMichel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caimin McMichel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glen McWilliam, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Celbridge FC's Pawd Frankson got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Glen McWilliam came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Cloon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Glen McWilliam couldn't finish the play. Cloon's Bannon Ryan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pawd Frankson in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24thth minute of the game Pawd Frankson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cloon's Bannon Ryan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Roland McPhil hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Donegal Beckett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. In the 45th minute, Celbridge FC's Boyle McBrandon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bannon Ryan. Bannon Ryan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pawd Frankson to strike the kick off in the second half. Ravan Branson kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. If Braydon Gollogley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Donegal Beckett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cloon's supporters rose to their feet, but Glen McWilliam was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Caimin McMichel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Caimin McMichel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donegal Beckett in the 76th minute of the match. If Glen McWilliam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rownun Hunt in the 90th minute of play forced Cloon's goalkeeper Bannon Ryan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cloon's zone, Rownun Hunt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bannon Ryan came out of the goal and Rownun Hunt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Glen McWilliam came free with the goalkeeper in the 95th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Caimin McMichel could save by the left post.
