The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Ryan Keegan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bearnard Kelly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rory McWilliam could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Torran Mulvihill made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Anascaul's Brannan MaCollin got a free kick in the 5th minute. With an all-out effort, Tullow FC's Torran Mulvihill threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Brazil Gollogley, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Torran Mulvihill was a little too slow when Rory McWilliam got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 10th minute. The score was now 1-0. Gavin Myler charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gavin Myler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 14 played minutes Tullow FC got a freekick which was hit by Gavin Myler. Torran Mulvihill made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rory McWilliam in the 19th minute. Anascaul's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Rory McWilliam scored to the left of an out of position Torran Mulvihill, making the score, 2-0. Bearnard Kelly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ryan Keegan, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After a rather tough play, Tullow FC's Brazil Gollogley got a free kick in the 25th minute. If Ryan Keegan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Tullow FC's Torran Mulvihill threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gavin Myler, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Bearnard Kelly didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ryan Keegan went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 38th minute Gavin Myler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torran Mulvihill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Gavin Myler dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Torran Mulvihill, 3-1. Torran Mulvihill was a little too slow when Brazil Gollogley got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 48th minute. The score was now 4-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Gavin Myler might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Torran Mulvihill. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gavin Myler ran back to his position shaking his head. Gavin Myler scored 5-1 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Torran Mulvihill, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Torran Mulvihill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rory McWilliam, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 64th minute Rory McWilliam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torran Mulvihill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Ryan Keegan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bearnard Kelly was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Anascaul's Boddibevve McVictor got a free kick in the 67th minute. Tullow FC's Brazil Gollogley suffered a sore thigh after 77 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brazil Harkin during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rory McWilliam in the 89th minute of play forced Anascaul's goalkeeper Torran Mulvihill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ennis McSteven kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Fergus Ryan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Bearnard Kelly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tullow FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
