The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 11th match minute, Neves FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Banbhan Crowe to maneuver through the defense. Brett McGlynn helped the player get up and apologised. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brendon Scully during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 26th minute, Lewis Deans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel McWill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Berrigan Sheridan, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. The referee gave Brett McGlynn a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. 41 minutes into the match, Killanigan's goalkeeper Daniel McWill had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Derin Walker. If Tevin McJohn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Britain McVictor made a kick off. In the 51st match minute, Neves FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Banbhan Crowe to maneuver through the defense. Britain McVictor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel McWill having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, Killanigan's goal looked a bit too open when Britain McVictor came free, but Daniel McWill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel McWill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Britain McVictor in the 61st minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Britain McVictor made a precise shot to the right of Daniel McWill. Killanigan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Daniel McWill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brennen Colwell, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After 69 played minutes Neves FC got a freekick which was hit by Brendan McJames. After some careless play in the Killanigan defense, Derin Walker kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniel McWill. The Killanigan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniel McWill should have stopped the shot. Harold McBrand blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Daniel McWill having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Killanigan's Beartlai McNamara got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Daniel McWill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derin Walker in the 84th minute of play. If Beartlai McNamara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Killanigan fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 88th minute. Penalty! Daniel McWill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Britain McVictor in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Neves FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Killanigan had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
